Today's Artist Spotlight: Verlannia Manchester
Vallejo native for 25 years
A car accident altered Verlannia's life back in 2009. After that her life, took a drastic change.
For comfort she began to tap into her creative side through painting, and through a fellow artist she discovered that Vallejo had a welcoming art community.
By 2011 she had participated in several city events and galleries.
Currently you can find her work at Pieces on Earth, 615 Florida St.
Verlannia has followed her love to sing her whole life. A little over a year ago she started collaborating with another local artist, who, after hearing her, jokingly said he would invite her over to Yes home studio to record... and offer she took up, and four hours later they had their first track...

- (beniciaindependent.com/city-of-san-luis-obispo-launches-sustainable-slo-initiative-and-benicia-could-take-note/) [archive.is/IHVI7]: There are many paths to a balanced budget in a small town like ours. Paths that emphasize local economic development by enhancing active transportation safety and accessibility, minimizing fossil fuel reliance, and boosting both outdoor and indoor air quality set a course for a San Luis Obispo that is cleaner, healthier, and safer…and yet still financially stable and self-sustaining. San Luis Obispo and Benicia have a lot of common: SLO is another full-service town like Benicia, with a larger population but many of the same values.
